11 March 2015, Jakarta, Indonesia – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, announced the company will set up a Joint Innovation Center with Telkom Indonesia to focus on the development of Internet Protocol-based video technologies. The MOU was signed on March 2nd, 2015 during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Joint Innovation Center will pool together ZTE’s world-class capabilities in IPTV and OTT solutions, and the commitment to service excellence of Telkom, Indonesia’s biggest telecommunications company. The center will focus on the research of IPTV and OTT technologies, building partnerships with other technology providers, and the development of new services. The project further deepens the strategic partnership between ZTE and Telkom.
ZTE landed the biggest contract for IPTV network with Telkom Indonesia under UseeTV Cable brand. In the partnership, ZTE supports Telkom Indonesia in the construction, operation, and maintenance of a low-bit-rate IPTV network from 2013 to 2016. ZTE provides IPTV system equipment; including high definition (HD), standard definition (SD); and low bit rate devices, as well as STB. ZTE also provide its services; such as operating, maintaining, as well as hosting the equipment and providing end-to-end network optimization.
