Jakarta, January 18, 2013 — D-Link today unveiled a dazzling lineup of new products, showing an award-winning portable router, Cloud Cameras, and 11ac Cloud Routers to great acclaim at the 2013 International CES, the biggest consumer electronics show in the world. Enhanced with D-Link’s leading Cloud capabilities, these products make it easier than ever for users to access their personal files, share them with important people in their lives, and view their homes or other desired locations, from any mobile device or PC, no matter when or where.
The highlight of the announcement was the DIR-508L SharePort™ Go II portable router, which was named a 2013 CES Innovations Honoree. This pocket-friendly router turns any Internet connection into a wireless hotspot, has a USB port and SD card slot for easy media transfers, and packs a high-capacity battery that can recharge other devices, even large tablets. Meanwhile, the DCS-931L and DCS-933L Cloud Cameras make it easy to care for family and home with support for the mydlink platform and D-Link’s exclusive Zero Configuration capability. Both cameras include advanced features such as sound detection, and can also help extend the range of a wireless network. Finally the DIR-868L and DIR-860L are the fastest Cloud Routers yet, with wireless speeds up to AC1750 and AC1200 respectively for silky-smooth HD media streams, Internet calls, and online games and USB3.0 ports for lightning-quick streaming and sharing.
“As the worldwide leader in the consumer networking space, D-Link listens to customers and aims to connect them to more. D-Link portable routers such as the DIR-508L, Cloud Cameras like the DCS-931L and DCS-933L, and wireless 11ac Cloud Routers including the DIR-868L and DIR-860L make it easy to access your favorite media and photos on the go, share your digital life with friends, keep an eye on family and home, and ensure that your Internet connections are both speedy and secure, all from today’s most popular smartphones and tablets,” said Mr Jonathan Quek, Marketing Director, D-Link International Pte Ltd. “Enhanced with D-Link’s uniquely smart and user-friendly Cloud Services, they are the perfect complement to today’s mobile, social lifestyle.”
After practically inventing the portable router market, D-Link is again leading the way with the DIR-508L. Slim and pocket-friendly, it sports a 4,000 mAh battery for all-day Internet connection sharing and mobile file access with D-Link’s exclusive SharePort technology. The DIR-508L can also recharge almost any mobile device, even a larger tablet that cannot be powered from most USB ports, so users always have enough juice to get through the day. With both a USB port and an SD card slot, the DIR-508L is great for media transfers such as movies and pictures from a digital camera. Stored files can be copied or streamed to an iPhone, Ipad, or Android device with the free mydlink SharePort app, available on the App Store or Google Play. The DIR-508L even supports 3G and 4G/LTE adapters, making it simple to share a single high-speed connection with multiple mobile devices.
Other notable products include the DCS-931L and DCS-933L. These mydlink-enabled Cloud Cameras work with the mydlink platform for anywhere, anytime viewing from a mobile device so it’s effortless to care for family members and home. They’re easy to set up too, thanks to D-Link’s unique Zero Configuration capability. Both models include advanced features like sound activation, which triggers recording when a sound is picked up in the monitored area, and can also serve as wireless N network repeaters. Not only do they connect to the home network wirelessly, they also rebroadcast the signal, ensuring that wireless N connectivity extends throughout the house.
Making perhaps the biggest splash were D-Link’s next-generation 11ac Cloud Routers. The flagship DIR-868L with AC1750 wireless for true Gigabit speeds is the world’s fastest Cloud Router, while the DIR-860L offers AC1200 speeds. Both routers also include gigabit Ethernet for hooking up bandwidth-intensive gaming and media devices like an Xbox 360 or PS3. With USB3.0 ports and D-Link’s SharePort Mobile and SharePort Web Access, as well as DLNA streaming, the DIR-868L and DIR-860L can be effortlessly expanded with the fastest network storage for HD media playback or file backups, at home on the network or out and about over the mydlink platform. Finally, both routers can be configured from a smartphone or tablet using the free QRS Mobile app, no PC required.
Rounding out D-Link’s product announcements was the DGL-5500 Gaming Router. Designed from the ground up to meet the requirements of serious gamers, it too offers wireless 11ac connectivity and gigabit Ethernet, enhanced with game-specific quality of service (QoS) features for the lowest latency, most responsive connections demanded by today’s online games.
