August 22th, 2017, Vietjet held an announcement ceremony to inform their plan for a new direct flight route, connecting Jakarta (Indonesia) with Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). This event was held in Mandarin Oriental Ballroom, Jakarta, from 1 to 3 pm.
Quoting Dinh Viet Phuong as Vice President of Vietjet, the Low Cost Carrier airline has been developing a friendly and professional flight services for international routes, including Jakarta. The new routes will be open to help strengthen Vietnam’s business and tourism internationally. Vietjet’s new route from Jakarta to Vietnam is expected to strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as increasing the economic, cultural, trading, and financial sector. Moreover, Jakarta’s unique food, culture, and city tours can also attract tourists from Vietnamese.
The Announcement Ceremony was witnessed by Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong in his first official visit to Indonesia. Several Indonesian and Vietnam’s dignitaries also attended the event that day.
